Abdominal Therapy & Rebozo Workshop with Ale & Kerys
This course weaves together Chi Nei Tsang abdominal therapy and Rebozo work as complementary pathways to support the central nervous system, emotional integration, and embodied presence. Chi Nei Tsang is a profound form of abdominal work that was traditionally preserved within monasteries across Asia until recent decades. It approaches the belly as the core axis of health—where organs, tissues, emotions, and the nervous system meet. Through precise, slow, and respectful touch, we listen deeply into the viscera, inviting the release of stored emotional charge and unconscious holding patterns. This work awakens the body’s inner intelligence, allowing healing to arise from within and restoring dialogue between body, emotion, and spirit. Rebozo work brings the quality of holding, suspension, and rhythmic support. Using the woven cloth as an extension of the hands, the Rebozo allows us to cradle, decompress, and mobilize the body in a way that feels safe, nurturing, and deeply regulating for the nervous system. Together, abdominal therapy and Rebozo create a powerful balance between direct listening and indirect holding, between depth and softness, precision and surrender. ⸻ Day 1 — Roots: Grounding the Nervous System The first day will focus on the foundations of the body—pelvic floor, hips, lower abdomen, legs, and feet—the territories that hold our sense of safety, belonging, and stability. Through Chi Nei Tsang, we explore the lower abdominal center as a reservoir of vitality and emotional memory, gently releasing deep-seated tension and habitual contraction. Rebozo techniques support this process by offering containment, traction, and rhythmic movement, helping the nervous system settle and the body feel held from the ground up. This day is about rooting: restoring trust in the body, reconnecting with gravity, and creating a stable base from which softness and expansion can naturally emerge. ⸻ Day 2 — Fruits: Expression, Breath & Integration Building upon the rooted foundation, we move upward to the chest, neck, and head—areas linked to expression, perception, and relational presence. Abdominal and thoracic work invites greater freedom in the breath and heart space, supporting emotional expression and coherence between the gut, heart, and mind. Rebozo techniques here bring gentle opening, unwinding, and integration, allowing what has been released in the core to travel upward and be embodied in clarity, voice, and gaze. This day is about fruition: allowing the work of the roots to blossom into openness, presence, and embodied awareness—where the nervous system feels regulated, the body aligned, and the inner landscape more spacious and alive. Bio: Coming together for the first time in Sagres, Portugal, Ale and Kerys bring over two decades of experience in the art of touch. Internationally renowned facilitators in acro yoga, Thai massage, aquatic bodywork, Chi Nei Tsang, and somatic movement, they weave their expertise into a unique fusion focused on healing and regulating the central nervous system through abdominal therapy and rebozo techniques. Friends for decades, this course will be playful, alive, and deeply nourishing.
